Allow Temperature Profiles per Floor

I have 1 sensor in the basement, 2 on the first floor, and 2 on the second floor. Currently, I’m assuming that Temperature Profiles just use Indoor Temp (which can be WILDLY inaccurate, I’ll make a thread for that next). It’d be nice if Temperature Profiles per Floor could be calculated by using sensor data.

Temperature profiles use the averaged temperature based on your comfort profiles and sensors. Basically: What the thermostat says.

I don’t have a way at the moment to generate per-sensor or per-floor profiles. Sensor data is only retained for 3 months (there’s a LOT of it) and profiles use a full year of data. I can definitely see how this could be useful, though!

How about being able to lock the temperature profile onto a single sensor?

I have six sensors, but I am using only one room’s sensor for EMHASS’s pre-cooling optimization. It is in the room with the worst resistance in the house that’s often occupied. It’s clear that the whole-house resistance computed by Beestat is likely extremely inaccurate with respect to the EMHASS room.

If you are only using one sensor in your ecobee comfort profiles, then all of your beestat profiles would be based off of that. Beestat does not compute it’s own sensor average; it uses whatever the ecobee is currently using.

That’s good to know, thank you for the explanation. I was mentioning this as a possibly easier but almost-as-effective implementation to minimize data but allow some flexibility for users like me. Given that Beestat is just using the average of whatever sensors are using in each Ecobee comfort profile seems to me to make the temperature profile data unsuitable for something like EMHASS.

For instance, I use only the temperature sensors in our bedrooms during the overnight comfort profile. When later comfort profiles kick in and account for all three floors, this would obviously result in a completely different resistance profile.

I am grateful that this is an open-source project, so perhaps the code can be adapted or reused in a more appropriate way for users with different needs.
