Beestat Temperature Profiles only displaying Heat 1 not Heat 2

Hi - I’ve been using my Ecobee units for over a year with a dual fuel system. Heat 1 - high efficiency inverter heat pump and Heat 2 - auxiliary natural gas heat. In Beestat under Analyze, both Heat 1 and Heat 2 display as expected under the Thermostat Summary graph, however under Temperature Profiles, there’s only a line for Heat 1 (heat pump). I’m also wanting to see the line for Heat 2 so that I can determine and set the appropriate changeover temperature for my thermostats for the next winter season. There should be more than enough data for this line to be plotted but it’s not appearing. Please advise. Thanks.

What does your Heat 2 look like when it does run? The most common thing I see is that a secondary heat source runs it short bursts (< 10m) which produces data that isn’t reliable enough for a profile.

That doesn’t appear to be it. New dual fuel heat pump + natural gas furnace were installed in May 2025. I’ve since updated my custom start date to that and heat 2 not appearing in the temperature profile graph. Though in the Thermostat Summary I can see that heat 2 has run for several hours at a time.

Oddly I do notice that in Settings, it correctly shows that Heat = Compressor (Detected) and Cool = Compressor (Detected), but it’s incorrectly showing Aux Heat as Electric (Detected) when it is Gas (Furnace).

Let me know if you need the serial # of the system.

@ziebelje appears the ecobee thermostats (2) are setup correctly and beestat’s Thermostat Summary is showing both heat and aux but the Temperature Profiles is excluding Aux heat entirely.

Under Compare I have manually setup all correctly but under Change System Type, beestat not correctly detecting aux heat. It’s detecting as electric (detected) instead of gas as I’ve manually selected. Cooling is OK.

I’m now going to try setting Aux Heat to Electrif (Detected) to see either it works. Since ecobee is correctly using gas furnace for aux heat source.

The detected type shouldn’t affect this. But if you just had this installed in May then I would say the most likely issue is still lack of data. If you send me your thermostat serial I can pull the profile debugging and see how many samples it has available for your Heat 2.
